Meetup #57 marked the end of an era. The venue we have been using for the past five years is closing down. It's not completely closed at the time of this article, but the 4th floor is no longer available, so if we continued here for the short remaining time, we would have to share a smaller space with more people. So we decided this would be the last meetup at this venue. It was a good run. We have already decided the new (albeit perhaps temporary) venue, so please check at the event schedule page.

For our last day at this venue, Sean brought in his PC-6001mkIISR for gaming, and a small library of books for scanning. Gaming included a 3-D maze game and Justice Knight.

Greg did the actual scanning work. Although we expected it to be really smooth, it was in actuality a big hassle because several of the books had ring binding down the middle. Altering some settings allowed for a better experience but those ring-bound books didn't come out quite as nice. Still, it's great that they are scanned and preserved.

David brought in a unique specimen, it was an oscilloscope that had a game readied for it. The forest of wires itself was most impressive!

Tom brought in his MSX2+ with unique collection of games. He certainly brings some games more than once, but he does seem to have new gems to show off often enough.

Colin had an Amstrad CPC with its unique 3" disks and integrated floppy drive. He also had a handful of games, some in original boxes, that he kept trying to convince us were not very good. He definitely had a point, at least from a sound perspective, as many of them lacked music or even much in the way of sound effects. But they looked nice! He also took along his Amiga Vampire setup.

David B. showed off his Atari ST Falcon, quite a rare and desirable piece of hardware.

Nobody seemed to have broken down in tears, but I think we were all a bit sad that our run at our home away from home was at its end. Thank you and goodbye, Co-Edo!
