2024年02月13日 - NEC PC-6001の周辺機器まとめ Just before the end of the year, I grabbed this lot of boxed PC-6001 items. There was considerably more than this, but I wanted to focus on the matching boxed system and peripherals. The system box was in pretty decent shape, but NEC was wont to use cheap cardstock boxes for the peripherals, so the end result is they don't look amazing after 40 years. 続き⇒ |

2022年09月09日 - 漢字ROMボード・マウス等 This must be my fourth or fifth SMC-777C by now. I don't keep duplicates at the moment, so I sell the machines back, but I often pick up accessories this way to expand my collection. This lot was a particularly good one; I got some games, an official SMC-777 mouse, and a kanji ROM card! It also came with a complete set of manuals and software, some of them in better condition than my own, so I did a bit of swapping out to improve my own collection. 続き⇒ |

2022年02月13日 - パソピア７のRF・コンポジット変換器 I’ve picked up a few Pasopia7s recently and two of them included this item. It converts digital RGB to RF or composite video signal. This isn’t the only one; I have one from Hitachi but it’s positively huge and requires a separate power adapter, which I don’t have. I also have one for the PC-6001mkIISR, which I will do a write-up of later, because that serves a special purpose. 続き⇒ |

2021年05月07日 - シャープX1のフロッピドライブ This has been an active week for my X1 systems. First, I picked up a set of two external floppy drives. There was a disk stuck in one of them, and it wouldn’t come out by conventional methods. Upon opening it, I saw that drive head was in the down position and wouldn’t come up either by the drive lever or gentle force. So I began the very technical task of poking my finger at various things, and eventually found whatever it was waiting for and it sprang back up. 続き⇒ |

2020年11月01日 - X1ターボゼットのキーボード I had a perfectly functional and definitely nice-looking Sharp X1 Turbo Z keyboard, but I managed to find one that looked just a bit better still. This one was super clean and the big advantage over my old one is that the logo had greatly faded over the years. The new one has a solid logo and red accents to match the main computer unit. 続き⇒ |

2020年06月16日 - SHARP CZ-8RL1 The X1 series of computer has a proprietary CMT (tape player) port, and the tape players are also kind of special, and they are prone to failure. So if you see a working one on Yahoo for auction, you shouldn’t be surprised to see it get up to about 40000 yen. 続き⇒ |

2020年05月24日 - FM Towns RAMアップグレード I’d been watching with mild annoyance as this guy dropped his price 100 yen per day for a couple of months to keep his items at the top of the search list in Mercari (or whatever reason he had). It was kind of annoying because the machine itself is pretty banged up, and with a starting price of 20000 yen, it seemed like it would take forever to finally sell so I wouldn’t have to look at the listing anymore. 続き⇒ |

2019年08月28日 - HxCフロッピーエミュレーター・シャープX１ There’s a good chance you know this device already. It’s a floppy disk emulator. Here’s how it is supposed to work: you take a well-organized, homogeneous group of disk image files, tell the software to bulk-convert the images to .HFE format, move them to a SD card, plug the SD card into the emulator device, and plug the device into the computer.
