Dragon Slayer is one of the more ambitious projects for the Super Cassette Vision. It's the only real RPG for the system, and it is a relatively long time investment compared to probably virtually every other game available. It has a compartment for double-A batteries to save your progress along the way, but as a relative SCV newcomer, the save and load process seemed a little fragile compared to computer version where it was like "enter you tape, press record, then press space" and you could watch it record before your very eyes. On this system, one mess-up and you could hose hours of progress!

It's not exactly a beautiful-looking game, but it also wasn't so hot on other systems, either. And honestly I've never really quite figured the game out, I can usually adventure around for a while and kill off some enemies, but I invariably end up dying by getting trapped by monsters stronger than I can handle. So it's more of a curiosity on this system for me than something to get into, but it is kind .

With a decent box and instruction manual, this is at the lower-end of pricey games for the system, but I picked this game up as part of a bulk lot so it ended up being somewhat reasonable.
