Astro Wars for Super Cassette Vision It contains a lot of elements from Space Invaders (side-to-side, then downward progression of enemies, a protective layer, and a horizontal-only scrolling ship that can be destroyed). But it also adds its own twists (the boss character, bonus points, end-of-screen animation).

This game is a good, if simple, example of the SCV's capabilities. There are numerous medium-sized enemies on the screen and one big ol' boss sprite. The SCV differs from the Famicom in that the sprites are monochrome (one color and transparent), so each main enemy is made up of two sprites, one for the main body and one to add accent colors. The boss is made up of a whopping 16 sprites, four in each quadrant, one for each color. It's unique because based on the first in-game screenshot below, there must be 16 total sprites in the first row of 16 pixels.

While the Famicom could produce more advanced sprites, the SCV shines in an unexpected way, being able to process 20 sprites per horizontal line, 128 sprites per screen, without flicker. The sprites are divided into two subsets, 64 for movement, and 64 for static graphics.
