When I started getting into this hobby, I didn't realize Activision had a presence in Japan, but from memory, I have now seen Pitfall, Pitfall II, River Raid, and Keystone Kapers for the MSX. The MSX, while a welterweight in the graphics department compared to other 8-bit Japanese computers, definitely had some advantages over the Atari 2600, so it's interesting to see how they adapted these games for the Japanese market. The gameplay is identical, give or take some timing differences that I think may exist. But here's a look at the in-game graphics.

The packaging is quite different, too. The box art is totally different, although I must say I was partial to the Atari 2600 box art with its colorful and comically oversized illustrations. The MSX box art is simpler, it looks fine but a lot of open space. The cartridge was presented on a white tray, but the plastic they use for these trays seems prone to degradation.

Oh, I just learned that this box art is the same as used on the Atari 2600 in Australia! How about that.
