I've really enjoyed the MZ-1500 games that I've played so far. Most of them have pretty good graphics, decent music, and they sometimes play a bit on the slow side, but they have smooth animation. But this game... is none of those things. It's a racing game with amazingly simple graphics (that's fine, but it feels closer to an MZ-700 game than a good MZ-1500 game), no music, and here's the real kicker... despite the simple graphics, the animation is *so* bad. Just terrible. Your car flickers so much that it only appears in about one in every four frames.

The above notwithstanding, if you look closely, you will see that the game could not possibly be made on the MZ-700, it combines too many colors in each 8x8 cell, and while the rain effects are poor, they overlay the greenery on the side of the road, which the MZ-700 would not be able to do. And I will give them some points for the variety of scenes.

Another surprise, though. The packaging was low effort for sure. It was kept in good condition so it doesn't look bad, but it's just a simple white plastic sleeve with the cover art folded loosely around it, not protected by a plastic cover or or even held in place with adhesive, it's just hanging on to the sleeve by the grace of the ziplock back it came in. And the sleeve is so slim that you can't even secure the QuickDisk inside it; you just place it loosely in the sleeve and hope you remember to hold it tight so it doesn't fall out. I thought perhaps it was just my copy, I've definitely seen people who only keep the cover and throw away the box, but I found a second copy on Yahoo that used the same packaging technique!
