I got this sort of hapless FP-1100 on Mercari. It came as a big set including monitor and manuals. The monitor was grimy but basically good condition and wiped up nicely. The computer itself, however, was a nasty mess and I did such a gosh-darned good job cleaning it up and I just NEVER think to take "before" pictures so I don't have any. Actually, I ALWAYS think to take before pictures and I ALWAYS think "nah, it won't be that interesting. But while this may not look perfect, believe me, it used to be much much worse. I did good by it.

Sometimes I have bad ideas, but my experience usually prevents me from acting on them. But not this time. I was curious to see the insides and I just couldn't imagine how much of a struggle it would be to take the top shell off. I never heard anything crack so I am not sure if the damage was my doing or if it was already broken but taking the shell off dislodged it from its precarious position where it still looked fine, but the power switch is now very diagonal. It still works fine, though.

I had come this far and had even removed the upper PCB to reveal the bottom one, but I sort of lost my nerve about taking the expansion bays off because everything seemed delicately connected and I didn't want to cause it more problems than I already had with the power button fiasco, so this is as much as I photographed of this odd beast.
