Now here's an interesting game. You play a Milkwoman (or Milkman, we don't discriminate here) who has no idea where they are but needs to find some milk pronto, and deliver it to thirsty customers. There is a map, but there is no "you are here" indicator on the map. They want you to find yourself by examining the map and your surroundings! This was a struggle but I eventually did it once. Once you find the milk source (the Hudson 'fridge, not the cow), you buy some and then set off to deliver the milk to your customers. Buying the milk extends your time, and the customers pay you more than the cost of the milk, fortunately. You can also find money on the ground, or a... cyan circle. I thought this must be falling down a pit, but it wasn't. I don't think there was actually any effect by traversing the circle, but I didn't play that much. Okay, I just re-read the instructions, they are puddles, and running into a puddle or the wall causes your milk bottles to break! A game where you deliver goods to customers... would that kind of game ever be successful? Oh! Paperboy! I wonder if the Atari execs had a crack at this game and thought up their smash arcade hit from the idea-seeds? |
