This is another part-TV, part-monitor, but unlike most of this variety, this one is from Hitachi, not NEC. It's a lovely red color, but depending on the viewing angle, there are some obvious scuffs to the body. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This has some very useful connections - digital RGB and analog RGB over JP-21/multi-RGB, depending on where you get your vocabulary. Unlike the NEC PC-TV series, the controls are a bit out of reach and/or line-of-sight. To switch from digital RGB to analog, you have to move a physical switch on the back. The internal battery has died, so the channel/input settings aren't saved after powering off, and the remote is missing, so I have to go through a four-button sequence to get to RGB, and three of them are done blindly, so it's a bit of a clumsy process. ![]() ![]() But it does work very nicely and still has a nice, vibrant picture. It's not currently ready to take over any of my existing monitors, but it is currently situated in my living room, hooked up to my Famicom (over composite) and Super Famicom (over analog RGB). Here it is when I was first testing it, displaying my MZ-1500 over digital RGB. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
